Tell City Yoga Center welcomes everyone—of any age, gender, body type, or fitness level—to practice yoga and meditation in a peaceful, nurturing environment. Our mission is to provide Perry County, Indiana, and the surrounding area with a dedicated yoga studio that promotes wellness, integrity, and community. We believe in remaining true to the ancient tradition of yoga while making the practice accessible and relevant to modern yogis.
Currently, we offer gentle, hatha, and vinyasa yoga classes (see our class descriptions for more information), as well as private yoga instruction, group meditation sessions, and health and wellness workshops.
I initially began practicing yoga and mindfulness meditation in 2010 as a way to calm anxiety. Over time, both practices have greatly impacted my life. When I moved to Tell City in 2012 to get married, I continued practicing yoga through videos or occasionally at the gym, but I often wished the town had a yoga studio. So a few years later, I decided to make my wish a reality, and in 2016 I completed a comprehensive 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Inner Spring Yoga in New Albany, Indiana. Through my training, I learned so much about not just the physical practice of yoga, but also about embodying the principles of yoga in everyday life. My intention in opening Tell City Yoga Center is to create a space where I can share my ever-evolving knowledge of yoga with others and where as a community we can grow together. In my classes, you can expect to relax, to be challenged, to gain new perspectives, and to leave feeling better than you did when you came in.
Although I'm not a native of Tell City, my mother and stepfather are, so I visited Tell City often when I was growing up and have many relatives here. A graduate of Purdue University with a degree in English, I'm also a freelance writer and voracious reader. I live in Tell City with my husband David, dog Lucy, and several cats.
